 HOW TO ENROL

Students & Partners should complete the booking forms as it will be requested and return it to the NW Academy.

APPLICATIONS

Students & Partners who require a visa should send applications at least 6 weeks before the intended start date. Other
applications will be accepted up to 2 weeks before the start date. Forms received later than this will be considered at the
discretion of the Manager.

BOOKING DEPOSIT

Private applicants should send a non-refundable booking deposit of €180 when sending an application form. This is required to reserve a place on a course and will be deducted from the total cost.

DETAILS OF ENROLMENT

Upon receipt of your application form and booking deposit you will be sent enrolment details.

TUITION FEES

Private applicants’ fees must be paid in full before starting the course by bank transfer (the date will be indicated in the invoice). Students may pay by cash however for security reasons we do not accept cash
payments by post. NW Academy is not responsible for any bank transfer charges. Please ensure the NW Academy receives the full tuition fees allowing for any bank charges.

Please note that fees do not include the cost of examinations or textbooks.

CANCELLATION AND WITHDRAWAL

All cancellations must be made in writing to North West Academy of English with documented evidence. In the event of cancellation or withdrawal from a course made 4 weeks or less from the arrival date, no refund will be given. In the event of cancellation or withdrawal from a course made more than 4 weeks from the arrival date, the course fee less the non-refundable deposit fee will be reimbursed.
If a student visa application is refused the booking deposit will be retained to cover charges already incurred. The remainder of the fees will only be refunded if the student sends a copy of the full visa refusal letter at least 2 weeks prior to the course start date. Cancellations and postponements due to visa rejections only apply to students who have applied for the appropriate visa category. If a student applies for the incorrect visa category, it will be treated as a non-visa related cancellation / postponement.
If a student withdraws from a course for any reason after the start date no refund will be given. Students who are obliged to leave due to unforeseen circumstances or in the case of genuine complaints, the Managing Director’s decision will be final.
In the event that North West Academy of English cannot deliver the course that the student has paid for, the school can offer another course to the student or refund the cost of the course.
If North West Academy of English stop a course part way through, they must transfer the student to another course with no extra costs to the student. In this situation refunds are not permitted
North West Academy of English have provisions in place to ensure that a maximum period of 3 months will be set from receipt of request for refund to issue of refund.
In all cases (including students with cancellation insurance), the express mail fee, accommodation placement fee, registration fee, bank transfer or credit card fee, differences due to currency exchange rate changes, change fees, insurance fees, and any other service charges are non-refundable.

COURSES OFFERED

The NW Academy reserves the right to alter course dates at short notice if this becomes necessary. The NWA reserves the right to alter the offer from face-to-face to blended or online learning if needed OR to change the number of weekly lessons if it is necessary to move the class from group to one-to-one tuition

 

POSTPONEMENT OF COURSES

If you cannot attend your course, you may postpone it. All postponements must be made in writing at least 14 days before the course start date. A course may be postponed once without a charge being applied. Additional postponements will be subject to a €150 administration fee. New invoices for postponed courses will be issued and the rates applied will depend on the revised start date.

INSURANCE

North West Academy of English Ireland strongly recommends that students arrange personal and medical insurance before arrival. North West Academy of English Ireland does not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage to students’ personal property, accident or injury however caused or sustained. Fully Comprehensive Medical insurance is obligatory for students who do not come from a country with reciprocal health care arrangements with Ireland. For Work Placement student: personal liability insurance is also required.

 

ACCOMMODATION

North West Academy works with local partners in Letterkenny in order to offer students potential self catering accommodation options. North West Academy of English cannot be deemed responsible for lost or damaged items, personal injury or property damage on the premises.

CODE OF DISCIPLINE

The NW Academy reserves the right to refuse admission to or dismiss any student in the event of misconduct and no refund will be given. The Managing Director’s decision will be final in such cases. Students enrolled at the NW Academy are expected to attend classes regularly and punctually. A student has no claim to a refund of fees should the whole or part of a course paid for in advance not be attended. Students are responsible for any damage caused by them to the property or any items in the property.
